NFC Wild Card Playoff Game

New York Giants:         07    00   00  00  - 07
Washington Redskins: 00    14   00   09 - 23

RFK Memorial Stadium
Gary Clark
The Redskins trailed early but not often as they move on to the NFC Divisional round with a win over the Giants (23-7).  An early breakaway 60 yard sprint for a score by Giants Joe Morris gave the G-men and early lead but it wasn't long before Washington evened the score.  By the end of the 2nd quarter the Skins put up 14 unanswered points to take the lead and they never looked back.  With the strong play of MVP Gary Clark (8 catches, 143 yards, 2TDs) the Redskins rolled to 23-7 victory.   Washington dominated the clock holding on to the football for 33:27 minutes and turned the Giants over 3 times.  The Redskins will move on to face the Detroit Lions at the Silver Dome in the next round.
